ALUM NAMED CNN WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENT

Dan Lothian, MA ’88, has been named White House correspondent for CNN based in the network's Washington, D.C., bureau. Before covering the White House, Lothian served as CNN's Boston bureau chief, responsible for coordinating all news and coverage from the Boston area.

The School of Communication is moving—with your help—into the McKinley Building, one of the most distinguished on campus. After a $20 million top-to-bottom renovation, the 1917 neo-classical structure will be a state-of-the-art lab for a digital generation of students, applying traditional values and skills to tomorrow’s dynamic, multimedia environment.

FEATURED ALUMNUS: BILL THOMPSON

As Executive Vice President and Co-General Sales Manager of Picturehouse, alumnus Bill Thompson, BA '71, has been able to promote special films he believes in, such as the 2008 Oscar winner La Vie En Rose. Thompson sees great things ahead for SOC and plans to play a role in SOC's success. "I like giving back to SOC because you cannot help but be inspired by the work of Dean Kirkman."
